"Grandma what is cancer?," is a descriptive, child-based book that explains some of the things to expect when a loved one has cancer. Complete with pictures.I couldn't have said it better! If anyone is ever in this predicament,I would recommend this book to help explain things to children. Better then average!"

"In Sept. 1988, My father, Joe Lewis, had been lost to me, for 10 years, now, he sent for my brother, sister, and my self. We were wondering where he was, and what was wrong, so my brother and I went to St. Paul, MN, to see him. When we got there, we found out that he was dying from stomach cancer, and that it was terminal. I spent 2 weeks with him( my brother had to go back that next week, due to work), we spent a lot of time talking, and re-bonding with each other...during this time, one afternoon, when my father and I were sitting in the living room, with my son, then 6 mos old( who was sitting in his carrier), he looked at my son, then me and told me that my son was going to get up and walk. I looked at my father, rather stupidly( I have never seen or heard of a child, walking at that age), but to my astonishment, my son did! Of course, I was shocked, but my father, he just smiled. I returned back home, to Oklahoma, with a walking, talking son, and a 3 yrs old daughter. But, unfortunately he died, 2 weeks later. It was amazing that we were able to re-bond again, and he got to meet 2 of his 3 grandchildren, before he left for his reward(my youngest came, 3 years later). I will always treasure the time we spent together....it was a time of learning and rebirth, of a father/daughter relationship! It takes a very strong person, to write a book, in language that a child can understand, about cancer. God Bless You! "

Thanks for sharing. What a wonderful book and wonderful way to help
those touched by breast cancer. Tell your step daughter that the Johns
Hopkins Breast Center is doing great things for women with breast cancer and for
their families. I am a survivor volunteer there and we all thank her so
much for donating a portion of the proceeds to Johns Hopkins. Liz "
